XIAMEN

Xiamen Island, also known as "Ludao", is located in the bay of southern Fujian Province, China. The island is fully commercialized.
Xiamen, formerly known as Jiahe Island, was named Xiamen Island by the Ming Dynasty according to "Xiamen City". It belonged to Quanzhou Prefecture and was established in 1933. Xiamen Island is the birthplace of Xiamen Special Economic Zone. It has an early commercial and political center in Xiamen. Huli and Siming are the only municipal districts in the six districts of Xiamen that do not connect the mainland.

厦门岛，别称“鹭岛”，位于中国福建南部的海湾，岛上全面商业化。
厦门原名嘉禾屿，明朝依据“厦门城”命名厦门岛，隶属泉州府，1933年设市。厦门岛是厦门经济特区的发祥地，岛上有厦门较早的商业和政治中心，辖区湖里、思明是厦门市六区中唯独没有连接大陆的市辖区。

Xiamen University (XMU), founded in 1921 by Mr. Chen Jiageng, a well-known patriotic overseas Chinese leader, is the first university founded by overseas Chinese in the history of modern education in China. It is also a high-level university focused on the national "211 Project" and "985 Project". In 2017, Xiamen University was selected as the national publication of A class world-class university construction list.
Since its establishment, the school has been adhering to the motto of "Pursue Excellence, Strive for Perfection". It has accumulated rich experience in running a school and formed distinct characteristics of running a school. It has become a comprehensive university with complete disciplines, strong teaching staff, first-class in China and wide international influence.

厦门大学（Xiamen University），简称厦大（XMU），由著名爱国华侨领袖陈嘉庚先生于1921年创办，是中国近代教育史上第一所华侨创办的大学，也是国家“211工程”和“985工程”重点建设的高水平大学。2017年，厦门大学入选国家公布的A类世界一流大学建设高校名单。
建校以来，学校秉承“自强不息，止于至善”的校训，积累了丰富的办学经验，形成了鲜明的办学特色，成为一所学科门类齐全、师资力量雄厚、居国内一流、在国际上有广泛影响的综合性大学。
